I'm in rural central Minnesota near Annandale There's been sightings here over the years. There's lots of wooded areas near rivers and lake between the farm fields. I've never seen one though. Speaking of young animals that venture for their territories....a young bull moose wandered down this way from up north. Unfortunately it got killed crossing state highway 55 in Maple Lake. The people in their convertible car survived with not much injury though. I've never seen any large animal around here even though I've walked the county parks and driven all it's highways. There's cougars and bears but it's not too common to see one. My daughter and her boyfriend saw a bear walking thru Big Lake Mn right by their apartment. Only large animal I see regularly is deer. Considering so many deer you'd think there'd be more wolves and cougars around here but I've never heard a wolf howl only coyotes I here regularly and see every so often. But it's exciting to know there are cougars here. Only 5 miles away.
